On friday 8th August Keifer, George and myself went to Chris Birkbeck Rallyschool, for our half day intensive tuition. We had Chris himself and Guy Wilks instructing us in what proved to be a very useful and enjoyable experience. I would like to say a big thank you to the organisers of the Open Championship for awarding me with this prize, I would also like to thank Chris Birkbeck and Guy Wilks for giving me this oppurtunatly.

Racing at Croft - Most improved driver of the year award!

It was a wet and miserable weekend at Croft. My car wasn’t going well, it had a misfire which we could not solve. I finished 9th overall. However after a bad day racing, I was one of three awarded ‘most improved driver of the year so far’, and was awarded a half-day tuition at Chris Birkbeck Junior Rallyschool.

I am racing at Croft on 6th July, I am really excited. It is my home track and I had my first race there back in March. I have got lots of friends and family coming to support me. I am hoping to improve on my 6th place in the Open Rallycross Championship. It will be good fun and more practice for me.

I was racing at Pembrey in Wales this weekend, I came 4th in the BTRDA Rallycross Championship, and 6th in the Rallycross Open Championship with a puncture. These are my best results so far in the season.

I was racing at Blyton yesterday, crashed again, so I am known as Kelly “basher” Bird now! But I got back out there again and came 4th in one final and 7th in the other.

Yesturday I was racing at Bylton. On my 4th race I was coming 3rd but then had a crash on my 3rd lap, which was the biggest I have ever had, but I managed to get it repaired (thanks dad and everyone else who helped) and finish all my races, but I need a whole new front end to my car. As soon as I get a new one I’ll be back out testing before my next race.
